Service-Learning (Old): Youth Expedition Projects

NP's signature pedagogy

YEP

Every year, over 600 NP students embark on a Youth Expedition Project (YEP), sponsored by Youth Corp Singapore. They immerse themselves in a community in the ASEAN region, India or China, and undertake a Service-Learning project there.

YEP Service-Learning Trips

"My Cambodia" is a short film derived from a 14-day Youth Expedition Project, a service-learning trip organised by NP with support from the National Youth Council of Singapore.

Students from the School of Film & Media Studies travelled to Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, Cambodia to learn from and emphatise with locals. Through this motion picture, the team visualised the hopes of a local Khmer child whose mother left him behind to work and provide for their family needs. The film was recognised second runner-up in Adobe Youth Voices competition in 2015, and won for the team US$500 worth of donations for 10 Cambodian social service organisations.
